Website FAQ's and Tips

On this page we will be listing frequently asked questions as well as some explanations regarding how to use some of the features of our website.

Primer for the online payment page

This website has an online donation page that is linked to PayPal and accepts payments for the shul. Clicking on the online payment item in the "Give to KTM" menu will take you to that page. On this page you will choose to either make a donation or a payment.

Very Important! The difference between "payment" and "donation"

Payments are applied to an obligation that has been previously billed to your account like membership dues or pledges. Donations are new gifts to the shul that you direct or dedicate by your choices on the page.

Donations can be made if you are logged in or not but you can only make a payment to your account if you are logged in. Depending on whether or not you are logged in to the site, the page will show up differently.

Notice the opportunity is there to “Make a donation” on the right column.

If you are not logged in, the page will invite you to log in, it makes it easier if you do,  but if you chose not to, you will be able to make donations (that will eventually become associated to your account).

Logged in, the screen looks like this if you have no balance or with an option to make a payment toward your balance if you have one. Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 6.53.34 PM.png

Notice the “type” dropdown under the account name. That allows the donation to be directed toward the purpose you intend.

If you choose to make a donation there is a drop down menu that allows you to direct the donation to various purposes (Yahrzeit, Misheberach, Rabbi’s discretionary fund, etc.). If you do not choose one, the donation will be to the general fund unless you direct it otherwise in the “payment notes” box.

There is a box labeled “payment notes” where you can write in anything you want to tell the office about your payment to make sure that it is credited the way that you are intending. In this box, put the reason for the donation, put the name of a person to honor or remember or put in the program you want to support.

If you have any questions about this page, or questions or suggestions about any parts of the site, please email the office and we will be sure to get back to you.

Of course we still accept checks!

Try it out, and thank you.
