Biblical-botanical lunch with Dr. Jon Greenberg from Torah Flora
Biblical and Talmudic ethnobotanist Dr. Jon Greenberg of TorahFlora.org will narrate a Biblical-botanical lunch.
Come learn about the long and intimate relationship of the Jewish people with edible lilies, the significance of the red lentils for which Esau sold his birthright, and the lessons of the olive tree for family relationships and Jewish unity.
We will sample examples of ancient beer and wine types and enjoy a delicious Shabbat lunch as we learn about the historical, halachic, and midrashic significance of the foods we are eating.
Vegetarian option available.
This event is made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of Gary Perlman.
