Shabbat
Parshat Ekev, August 11-12, 2006 / 18 Av 5766
This
week’s Torah reading In this week’s Torah reading, Moshe continues to urge the Jewish Nation to
follow the Torah and keep the Mitzvos.
They should not become complacent with their newfound success in their
homeland and stray away from the path of G-d.
All the success that they enjoy comes directly through G-d’s Hand and
will only continue if they remain faithful to Him.
Question
of the week: Who is
to "bless in G-d's name?"
Answer to last week’s question:
Q. Is one obligated to hire a melamed (Torah instructor)
for his grandchildren?
A. The Torah says, "and you shall make [the Torah]
known to your sons and to your grandsons" (Yoreh Deah 245:8)
Shabbat Shalom!
