Dear Friends:
On Jan. 14, Parashat Beshallach, we will join with other shuls from our community to host
Rabbi Heshy Kleinman, author of the highly regarded
Praying with Fire (PWF) for a Shabbat of
chizuk in the area of
tefillah. Rabbi Klienman has spoken across the country about the impact of prayer on individuals and entire communities.
Rabbi Kleinman will speak at KTM on Friday evening, January 14 between Mincha and Kabbalat Shabbat.
As a follow up to that special Shabbat we will join with
nine other local shuls to launch the PWF initiative. This program to date has been run in over 140 shuls nationwide.
Here are the details of the program:
1) We will be learning PWF in its designed “5 minute / 1 chapter per-day” format beginning
Sunday, January 16, and ending on
Thursday April 14. The program is designed for
independent, self learning with the added benefit of doing so at the same time and along with countless other members of the shul and greater community!
2) Through the generosity of
local sponsors who are subsidizing the distribution, the full-sized PWF will be available for $10 per book – limit 2 books per family. There will also be a pocket size version of PWF available for $4 per book.
3) The books may be picked up from either (a)
the shul office during business hours,
or (b) after daily Minyan from Rabbi Blumberg. The books will be available for pickup starting
Sunday, January 9.
5) Additional
Divrei Torah will be offered over the course of the learning to supplement the insights contained in PWF. Please stay tuned for future email updates as well as periodic updates in the bulletin.
6)
If you are interested in participating in this program you may register at http://prayingwithfire1.weebly.com/boston-sign-up.html or at the shul office when purchasing the book.
I am very excited about the power and potential of this initiative and
I invite all of you to join me on this special journey as we look to enhance not only our personal
tefillot but also the
tefillah of the entire shul and even the community as a whole.
Rabbi Blumberg
