Israel's Shirat HaYam and Maskiot settlements

Breakfast Lecture

January 7, 2006, 9:30am, at KTM

$5 admission at the door

Hear Aviva Harbater speak about an admirable group of warm, hard-working and idealistic young people who have chosen, time and again, to strengthen Israel's borders. First they established Shirat HaYam in Gush Katif as a reaction to a terrorist attack targeting a school bus. A year and a half ago, they abandoned their homes for the purpose of bringing peace to the area. Hear about their past; hear about their future in Maskiot in the Jordan Valley. There they will — with government approval on the Right and Left — create a thriving community, both in terms of agricultural productivity and in terms of attracting visitors and tourists. You will hear why they've chosen that area, what their plans are, and how you too can take part in this exciting re-birth. Aviva Harbater is touring the US so you can hear this story.
